Mull of Galloway Wedding Experience
The Mull of Galloway Lighthouse in South West Scotland is a very special venue for your wedding. We offer a service tailored to your requirements and we are authorised for civil marriages and partnerships, naming ceremonies and renewal of vows.
We can cater for non-religious humanist ceremonies for couples looking for a wedding which is flexible and more personal. Scotland is one of six countries in the world where humanist marriages are legal, including same sex couples.
We can cater for ceremonies just for the two of you or for an intimate gathering of 25 guests or less at our unique site at Scotland’s most Southerly Point. You can arrange an informal chat or arrange a visit by contacting us by email or by telephone on 01776 980090.

A Unique Lighthouse Wedding Experience
The Mull of Galloway Trust and Northern Lighthouse Board are working together to offer couples an opportunity to hold their wedding ceremony at the top of the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse. We are an authorised venue for wedding ceremonies in the lantern room or the balcony at the top of the tower for couples and their witnesses or for small intimate wedding parties (maximum 8 people).
The Lighthouse was built by Robert Stevenson and was first lit on 26th March 1830. The tower stands 26 metres high and the light is 99 metres above sea level. The light remains operational and has a nominal range of 28 nautical miles. This is one of the few operational Lighthouses where you can get married. Climb the 115 steps to the top of the tower. Take your vows with endless sea views towards Ireland, Isle of Man, Cumbria and Scotland. Contact us today to discuss your romantic, intimate and personal wedding at the top of the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse.

Weddings at the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse
In addition to our tower weddings we can hold ceremonies inside the engine room next to the Kelvin Diesel Engines that once powered the Mull of Galloway Fog Horn. This is the perfect wedding option for those who love Lighthouses and engineering and we can even provide a demonstration of the vintage engines for your wedding party.
Alternative indoor space for your wedding ceremony is located inside the RSPB Visitor Centre on the reserve and this can be decorated to suit your requirements seating up to 25 people.
Our outdoor space is stunning and photographs can take place on the lawn by the side of the Lighthouse, in the courtyard by the Lighthouse or in the Lighthouse Keeper’s Walled Garden. Each of our outdoor locations offers spectacular sea views.
We can recommend local hotels and venues for your wedding reception and celebration or we can offer exclusive use of our three holiday cottages at the Lighthouse.
Residential packages
Residential wedding packages are available for exclusive use with accommodation available in our three holiday cottages at the Lighthouse. We can accommodate up to 16 people, plus infants and pets in our three cottages. During peak season there is a 7 night minimum stay whilst in low season we offer a 3 night minimum stay. We can also recommend other local accommodation nearby.
With residential packages you are very welcome to bring your own party food and drinks and enjoy your celebration al fresco or inside the cottages. There are also venues nearby which we can recommend for your celebration.
The Mull of Galloway is a very special location for your special day. The Lighthouse and the sea views are an amazing backdrop for your wedding photographs creating a memory to cherish forever.

“Wow! All three cottages taken for the Stevenson’s wedding. Perfect location, superb views and wildlife, a unique place for family and friends to come together to celebrate our wedding. Staff brilliant and helpful. An inspiring place. Don’t want to leave!”
