The Board of Trustees would like to thank everyone who came along to the Mull of Galloway on 4th July to celebrate ten years since the community buy out, particularly to all our supporters over the last 10 years – staff, residents, visitors, holidaymakers and partners RSPB  and Gallie Craig.

The cake was cut by one of our younger members of the Exhibition team, Molly Irving. The current Chair, Nick Chandley said a few words to express his thanks and to celebrate the work of all those were involved in the last ten years and the work of the South Rhins Development Trust who put in the hard work that led to the formation of the Mull of Galloway Trust and the community buyout prior to that.  We were joined by former lighthouse keeper, Ron Ireland and a number of visitors and holiday guests, enjoying all that the Mull has to offer.

There are a number of things in the planning stages at the moment to continue to celebrate this milestone event throughout the next twelve months, including talks, films, a craft fair and a time capsule!  So watch out for news of that here on the MOGBlog.

We also have to give a quick shout out to Penny at Coastal Cakery co in Stoneykirk for her brilliant and delicious lighthouse cake which was shared out with staff and visitors yesterday. (Sorry if you missed out, it’s all gone!)

So here’s to the next ten years!!
