We are delighted to be screening a showing of a film called Lighthouse Lives at Port Logan Village Hall on Wednesday 18th October 2023, starting at 7pm.

Commissioned by the Northern Lighthouse Heritage Trust, the film is the culmination of a 9 year oral history project, in partnership with the School of Scottish Studies Archives.

Historian and storyteller Erin Farley recorded the testimony and stories of the men and women who worked for the Northern Lighthouse Board through a time of transition from manned to automated lighthouses.

Resonant voices and visual imagery give an authentic glimpse of lives lived against a backdrop of unusual circumstance. What was life actually like for the Keepers and their families working in the service of the Northern Lighthouse Board? We are now at an exciting stage of the project where the film is on tour around various venues in Scotland.

The screening will be at Port Logan Village Hall on Wednesday October 18th.  Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.

Tickets are free of charge, but numbers are limited to 45.  We do have the option to arrange a second date if seats sell out.
