An email sent to the Mull of Galloway Trust:

My name is Marjorie Sellar and thought I would contact you to share something related to the lighthouse.
In 2011 my mother, May McCrystal (who was 81 at the time and is still with us and with all her faculties) visited the light house with family members. They were staying in one of the cottages very near to it. My mother thought it was just a beautiful place and was so taken with the lighthouse and its surroundings that she actually penned a poem.
I have been clearing out paperwork and came across it and I thought I would send a copy to yourselves.
It’s such a shame it’s closed at the moment but perhaps when this lockdown is over, we will bring mum to the lighthouse again…. ten years later.
I hope you enjoy reading it.
Regards,
Marjorie
